Foguangyan of Chishui Danxia with an arc length of 1,117 meters and a height of 385 meters, is located in Yuanhou Town, Chishui City, Guizhou Province. It is a core scenic area of the Chishui Danxia World Natural Heritage Site. Formed as early as the Jurassic and Cretaceous periods, Foguangyan is the best-developed example of Jurassic and Cretaceous Danxia landforms in China.
弧长1117米、落差高385米，赤水丹霞佛光岩位于贵州省赤水市元厚镇境内，是赤水中国丹霞·世界自然遗产的核心景区。早在侏罗纪、白垩纪时代就已形成，佛光岩是中国侏罗纪、白垩纪丹霞地貌发育最好、出露最齐、特色最典型的景区。

岩崖高悬，当阳光掠过山巅，白练飞虹如仙女纱裙，从天散落。“飞流直下三千尺，疑是银河落九天。”抬头仰望，缇娅娜忍不住想起这首熟悉的中国古诗。奇峰异石、飞流而下，真不愧是世界丹霞之冠！
The term “Scarlet clouds” or Danxia, is from a verse composed by a Wei emperor to praise the beauty of a sunset. Today, the term has the byword for red sandtone layers whose colour it resembles.
丹霞，本是出自中国古代魏文帝赞叹黄昏晚霞的诗句。如今，却因似霞彩般的地貌特征而成为此类红色岩层的专属地质名词。
